#310 Conductivity of Solutions, (Conductivity Tester). 
For showing the electrical properties of liquids.  Consists of a molded socket on a PVC cover, provided with binding posts for connection of two wire cords.  Two electrodes are internally connected to the lamp circuit.  The cover is designed to fit a clear glass tumbler.  Light bulb, glass tumbler, and instructions sheets are provided.

#315 Conductivity Of Solutions with Plastic Jar
The unit the same as the #310, only provided with a plastic tumbler.

#319 Contact Key, Single.
For experiments which require momentary current.  Key mounted on a 3"" x 4-1/2"" black acrylic base, with two binding posts.  The dey is made of plated metal with contacts and insulated button which is pressed to close the circuit momentarily.

#1851 Current Balance.

ELECTROLYSIS APPARATUSES

#498 Electrolysis Apparatus, Brownlee, with Jar.
This unit consists of an acid-proof, non-porous insulating supports with a spring clip for holding test tubes, binding posts and two platinum electrodes.  The supports fit a 4 1/2 x 5"" battery jar and holds 150mm x 18mm test tube.  Platinum electrodes and instructions are included.
#499 Electrolysis Apparatus, Brownlee, without Jar

#499-2 Electrolysis Apparatus, Brownlee, New Design.
This unit features several improvements over the standard Brownlee.  The open front spring clips make it much easier to remove the test tubes while the tubes remain submerged.  The test tubes have been graduated for a clear measurement of the volume of gas generated.  The black acrylic background aids in viewing the water level while supporting the test tubes.  The binding posts have been reposititioned for easy access and greater safety.  The unit measures 140mm x 203mm x 38mm.  Instructions included.

#500 Electrolysis, Hoffman.
Graduated arms 19" in length with stopcocks at the top make it possible for both qualitative and quantitive measurement of the effect of electric current on liquid.  Supplied with Support Stand, Burette Clamp, Platinum Electrodes and Instructions.  Graduated to 50ml in 0.2ml subdivisions.  Overall height is about 32".

#501-1 Electrolysis Apparatus, with Ugraduated Tubes
The two arms of the U-tube are ungraduated and open at the top.  Rubber tubes and pinch clamp are used at the open ends to retain the gases.

#505-2 Electromagnet, Dissectible.
A U-shaped electromagnet having two removable excitation coils and an armature with hook.  Overall length approximately 13 cm. Terminals are mounted at the top of each coil.

#505-3 Large Iron Clad Electromagnet.
A strong enamel covered electromagnet powered by four 1.5 volt C batteries. Equipped with alligator clip leads approximately 6"" in length.  The unit measures 75mm diameter x 260mm length.  Batteries not included. Instructions provided.

#1823 Electronic Accessory Board.
This 10"" x 10"" clear acrylic board is great for teaching simple electric circuits.  The wires that connect red and black binding post and banana jacks are color coded.  This board has a SPST knife switch, DPDT knife switch, push button switch and two mini receptacles.

#1828 Electricity & Magnetism Kit.

ELECTRONIC DESIGN LINE MODULAR UNITS
The Electronic Design Line (EDL).
Modular units offer infinite possibilities into the world of hands-on electrical experiments.  Each unit can be used independently or in conjunction with other units to create exciting, visual demonstrations.  Instructions are provided for each module, plus the EDL Packs are supplied with special instruction booklets containing instructions for collective experiments.

#1207-1 EDL Power Board.
The base of all the EDL units is electrical power. You can supply your own or use this convenient D. C. power unit for supplying 3, 6 or 9 volt D.C. current.

#1207-2 EDL Lamp & Switch.
This is a SPST knife switch that opens and closed the circuit of a 3 or 6 volt lamp.

#1207-3 EDL Motor & Reversible Switch.
This 3 volt D. C. motor can be used with many mechanical-electrical experiments or used in conjunction with the reversible switch.  Thrown one way the motor will run clockwise and thrown the other way the motor will run counter clockwise.  The switch can also be used independently in other experiments.

#1207-4 EDL Heat & Magnetic Switch.
The thermostat on this unit can be used to either open or close a circuit by heat.  The magnetic switch has normally open contacts that close when a magnet is brought near.

#1207-5 EDL Transformer.
This mounted transformer is designed to demonstrate how voltage can be either stepped up or down.  Input voltage must be either A.C. or pulsating D.C. current.  You can use your own power supply or try the EDL Electromagnetic Solenoid and Pulsator.

#1207-6 EDL Electromagnetic Solenoid & Pulsator.
Illustrate electromagnetism and polarity.  Connect the spring arm and contacts for constructing a working relay or use this item to pulsate D.C. current so that it can be used in an A.C. transformer such as the EDL Transformer.

#1207-7 EDL Resistance Set.
Use an ohm meter to demonstrate the difference in resistance or to teach the standard color code of resistors.  Hook up the potentiometer for a variable resistance ranging from 0 to 150,000 ohms.  This unit can also be incorporated into many of your own experiments as well as used in several EDL experiments such as a solar alarm using the EDL Buzzer and Contact Switch and EDL Solar Cell.

#1207-8 EDL Buzzer & Contact Switch.
This unit can be used for many experiments requiring a 6 volt buzzer or a momentary closed switch.  By supplying power, you can hook the key switch to the buzzer to create a sounding device for practicing Morse code.  You can also connect two units together to send Morse code to each other.

#1207-9 EDL Connector Wires.  Pk of 12.
These insulated wires with stripped ends are perfect for all EDL experiments. Wires are 18 gauge solid copper, 12" long. 

#1207-10 EDL Explorer Pack.

#1207-11 EDL Designer Pack.

#1207-13 EDL Solar Cell.
This solar cell can be used independently to create .5 volt 300 mA or with other solar cells to produce greater voltage.  This solar cell will run the motor on the EDL Motor and Reversible Switch.  You could use it in conjunction with the EDL Buzzer and Contact Switch and the EDL Resistance Set to Build a Solar Alarm.

#1207-14 EDL Demonstration Fuse.
Simple and visual. This EDL consists of two clips in which a piece of steel wool is stretched.  When excess voltage is applied to the fahnstock clips the steel wool instantly burns, which opens the circuit.  The distance between the clips can be varied as well as the number of strands of steel wool, thus changing the fuses voltage rating.

#1207-15 EDL Galvanometer
Many test circuits need some sort of visual indicator.  This meter is built from a high quality, liquid dampening compass.  This gives you a smooth, steady, reading that is easy to compare.  Quick connections are made via fahnstock clips.

#1207-16 EDL Multi-Push Button Switch.
Five normally open push button switches are mounted on the EDL module board.  Several projects can be controlled at the same time with this one unit.  Each switch has its own fahnstock connectors.  In addition, a conductor pin is provided to be used as a common ground for all switches, if needed.

#1207-17 EDL Digit Display.
Bring a little high tech to your project with this large LED number display.  Capable of displaying numerals 0 to 9 using only two volts DC.  Each leg of the display has its own fahnstock clips for quick and easy connection.

#410 Electric Bell Apparatus.
A complete electric bell kit for electric wiring projects and other electrical experiments.  Includes an electric bell, push button switch, wire, electrical tape, staples and a 6 volt battery.  An instruction sheet is provided.

Demonstrates parallel and series circuits using this easily convertible lamp board, five mini receptacles are mounted to a clear acrylic base.  Buss bars connecting the receptacles allow for quick changing from parallel to series and many combinations of the two.  Size 15"" x 5"".  Instructions are included.

#1253 Magneto Generator.
The field of this magneto consists of a single Alnico magnet which has a strong magnetic flux density.  Capable of producing higher voltages then cobalt-steel magnets.  Although field intensity cannot be changed, magneto produces an equivalent of greater current than cobalt-steel types.  Generator is mounted on 7 5/8"" x 12"" wood base with incandescent lamp and socket used as a load.  Two binding posts are placed on the board for attaching other loads.  Complete with instructions.

#1306-41 Digital Multi-Meter.

#1848 Motor Demonstration, with Three Armatures.
This heavy duty motor is a wonderful visual aid for demonstrating the functions of DC electric motors.  Built from cast steel, this unit runs freely and quietly on 2 to 4 volts DC.  The motor is mounted on a wooden base and stands approximately 5 1/2"" high.  Connections are made through the insulated binding post.

#1847 Miniature Motor Model.
This model of both an AC and DC motor is quick to put together and easy to assemble and disassemble.  This unit is self-contained and even includes the wrench and screw driver needed.  Demonstrate both permanent and electromagnet motors.  Everything comes packed in it's own protective case which becomes the base for the motor when it's assembled.  Instructions included.

#1849-M Motor, DC Low Voltage, with Leads

# 280-A DC Motor with Leads
This little yet powerful motor is ideal for hundreds of electrical experiments and projects.  The motor housing is 23.8 mm in diameter and 30.5 mm in length with an overall length of 45mm including the 2mm diameter shaft. Voltage requirements are 4.5 to 6.0 dc volts.  Each unit also incorporates a 30mm long red and black connector cord with insulators. Weight is 50 grams.

#1850 AC/DC Generator.
With this unit both alternating & direct current can be demonstrated.  By turning the handle the current that is produced can be seen as it lights the lamp.  The quicker the handle is turned, the brighter the light. Instructions included. 

#1852 The One Handed Generator.
This simple generator can be operated with one hand, and will generate up to ten volts.  Moderate cranking speeds will generate approximately 5.5 volts D.C..  The alligator clips on the end of the connection cords provide a convenient hook up to any electrical device.  The units transparent casing also allows for viewing of the inside workings of the generator during operation.

#1853 DC Generator
This pistol grip style handle generator can be utilized with almost any experiment requiring up to 12 volt DC current.  Housed in tough clear plastic.  This unit is not only funtional but cost about half of that of similar models.  This generator can also be used as a hand generated flashlight due to the mounted lamp on the end or use the binding post to connect an outside electrical circuit.

#1857 St. Louis Motor
The St. Louis Motor is useful in demonstrating the operations of a DC motor.  The motor consists of a 2 pole armature mounted between magnets.  The steel supports are mounted on a ridged plastic base.  Will operate on 3 to 9 volts DC.  Instructions provided.

#1858 DC Motor Kit
This kit allows students to build their own DC motor  from scratch.  All of the needed parts are included along with a detailed instructions manual.  The unit is 7.5"" x 9"" x 5"" after assembled and runs on one AA battery.

#1440 Primary & Secondary Coil.
Used to study electromagnetic induction & transformer principles.  The outer coil is 4 1/2"" tall and 2 3/4"" in diameter.  The inner coil is 3 3/4"" tall and 1 1/4"" in diameter.  The removable steel core with handle is 1/2"" in diameter and 5 1/2"" tall.  All coils are wrapped with 20 gauge magnet wire with insulated binding posts as connectors.

RESISTANCE APPARATUS

#1800-4 Resistance Board.
Made of 1/8"" Clear Acrylic with 20 mounted resistors.  The Resistor Board sets both vertically and horizontally for ease of use.  The board is made of 1/8"" acrylic for over head projection use.  The resistors, 20 in all, are spaced slightly above the board for cooling purposes.  Each resistor is also equipped with both a black and red thumb nut for easy connections.  The unit contains the following resistors: two 10 ohm 5 watt power wire wound, two 100 ohm 1/2 watt, four 10 meg. ohm 1/2 watt, one 1K ohm 1/2 watt, one 1 meg, ohm 1/2 watt, one aluminum housed 50 ohm 10 watt, one aluminum housed 100 ohm 10 watt, two 560 ohm 1/2 watt, two 2.4K ohm 1/2 watt, one 10 ohm 1/2 watt, one 51K ohm 1/2 watt.

#1800-5 Resistors, Mounted.
Variable resistor values.  Securely mounted for class use.  These six wire-wound resistors ranging form 5 to 1000 ohm are mounted on a 10 x 15 cm base and are rated at 5 watts.  Connecting nuts attached to the ends of each resistor make connections easy. The resistors value is hidden from view.  The students try to asses the value of the resistance.  Useful when coupled with a Wheatstone Bridge.

#1800-2 Resistance Box, 3 Switch.
A multi-resistor box with resistance ranging form 0 to 999 ohm.  Coils calibrated to accuracy of 0.2%.  Coils have noninductive windings so box is acceptable in both DC and AC experiments.  All coils firmly locked into place to eliminate physical strain on wires.  Box is black plastic.  Measures 5 1/2" x 7" x 2 1/2".  Other features; silk-screened cover, insulated binding posts, pointer knobs, and multiple switches with wiping contacts.  Instructions provided.

#1880-3 Resistance Box, 2 Switch.
Same as #1800-2 except values range from 0 to 99.

RHEOSTATS
Inexpensive wire-wound variable resistances of various power ratings housed in ventilated black plastic cases which protect windings.  Resistance and power values are marked on the case.  Features three insulated binding posts so that students may use it as a potentiometer or rheostat.

SOLAR CELL
#1849 Solar Cell and Motor Demonstration.
High-power silicon cell converts light directly into electricity to operate a motor.  Exceptionally high output 1/2v with 300 milliamps of current output in bright sunlight.  Solar cell approximately 2" x 3" with plastic diffusing lens and protective mounting.  Motor with special anti-friction bearings revolves approximately 400 RPM in bright sunlight. #1849-1 Solar Cells, Silicon 3 Cells Mounted on an Acrylic Base.
Three solar cells 1 3/4" x 3", mounted on a 4" x 6" black acrylic base, with three sets of binding posts.  Useful as a power source for many electical experiments.

#1849-2 Solar Cells, Demonstration.
This is a great desk top item and attention getter.  Four powerful solar cells are mounted on a revolving disk and motor.  This in turn is mounted to a plastic stand and base.  Watch as the entire disk, solar cells included, begin to whirl around when the unit is placed in the sun. Instructions provided.

SOLENOID
#1850-1 Solenoid/Electromagnet with Core.
Used for many demonstrations involving electric magnets or solenoid.  A plastic spool is wrapped with three layers of 20 gauge magnet wire.  Insulated binding posts are located at each end for connection.  Included is a 3/4" x 6" steel core.  Instruction sheet provided.

#1824 Solenoid, with Mount.
A pre-wound solenoid and steel core with a back mounting block.  The 3/4"" core has a threaded hook for attaching a spring or a cord.  This can be used for creating mechanical movement or demonstrating the increase of magnetism in relationship to power.  Mounting block accepts up to 1/2"" rod.

#2007 Thermostat Model.
The thermostat unit demonstrates the control of temperature or electric currents by deferential expansion of metals.  The bimetallic strip mounted on a cast iron base can be used to open or close an electric circuit with varying changes in temperature.  Instructions provided.

#2010 Transformation of Energy Apparatus.
Demonstrates the transformation of mechanical energy into electrical energy, light, heat and sound energy.  Mechanical energy is induced into this unit through a high quality Alnico magnet generator.  Through the use of knife switches, the current can be directed to an electric bell, lamp and socket, 110V induction motor with propeller, or any combination of the three.  Feel the difference in the drag of the generator as the switches are opened and closed.  The entire unit is mounted on a stained and varnished wood base.  Complete with instruction sheet.

#409 Dissectible Transformer.
This unit encompasses both a U-Core and an I-Core.  The transformer plates are made from grain oriented steel.  The recommended power source is a maximum of 12 volts, 3 amps.  Included are 2 coils, 1-100 turns, 1-200 turns and an instruction manual.

VOLTAIC CELL
#1822 Standard Voltaic Cell
The voltaic cell is ideal for demonstrating the characteristics of a primary cell.  The cells cup is clear so you can easily view the electro-chemical reactions taking place.  The top rim is made of heavy molded plastic with sturdy nickel plated clamps designed to hold both round and flat electrodes.  A porous cup is also included.  The unit measures 95mm diameter x 120mm height.  Instructions provided.
